COURSE DESCRIPTION
This course has been designed to form part of the mandatory basic safety training for all seafarers with designated safety duties. It deals with the precautions to be taken to minimize the risk of fires on board ships, the way in which fires are caused and the first aid means of extinguishing them.
The course includes practical training in the use of fire extinguishers, hoses and other fire fighting equipment. It also covers the use of breathing apparatus for fire fighting and rescue purposes.
